The Catholic Congress, formerly known as All Kerala Catholic Congress (AKCC), is the official lay organization of the Syro-Malabar Church. With a legacy spanning over 100 years, the Congress has grown into a global movement. In Canada, the Canadian Catholic Congress works to revitalize the Church and empower the laity to become active participants in both our faith community and Canadian society. It is a dedicated non profit organization of laity within the Kerala Catholic Church in Canada, committed to advancing the well-being and safeguarding the civil and fundamental rights of our community, encompassing social, cultural, political, and economic dimensions. This organization, an independent laity organization, is under the patronage of the Bishop of the Eparchy of Mississauga and is the only laity organization approved by the Synod.

Vision: To provide love, mercy, solace, and protection to all humanity, following the path shown by Lord Jesus Christ.

Mission: To unite all lay faithful of the Syro-Malabar Church in Canada (ages 18+) under one umbrella, fostering spiritual growth, financial security, and the protection of our social and cultural rights.

The Canadian Catholic Congress serves as the official voice of the laity. Our goals are centered on three pillars:

Faith Formation: Supporting the spiritual journey of our families and ensuring the vibrant traditions of the Syro-Malabar Church are passed to the next generation.

Community Advocacy: Representing the interests of our community in social, educational, and economic spheres across Canada.

Leadership & Empowerment: Developing the next generation of leaders through mentorship, political awareness, and professional networking.

Organizational Structure

The Congress operates at multiple levels to ensure every member is heard:

Global Level: Connected to the Catholic Congress Global (CCG).

National Level: Coordinating activities across all Canadian provinces.

Diocesan Level: Working closely with the Eparchy of Mississauga.

Parish Level: Active units within local parishes like St. Alphonsa.
